A: A spacer is required every time the valve is replaced – or any time the valve has been removed and re-installed. Even if the original spacer appears undamaged, reusing it without verifying the depth is risky because the O-ring can swell and alter the valve's seating position. We recommend replacing the spacer with a new one of the same thickness, or re-measuring the depth and selecting accordingly.

Q: How do I measure the correct spacer thickness if I don't have the factory measurement tool?

A: Yes – the Acert engines use the same IAPV mounting interface and the same spacer dimensions. The spacer is identical for all HEUI engines regardless of electronic control system.
