Types of Injection Pumps
Inline injection pump
The inline pump is characterized by the fact that each engine cylinder has its own dedicated plunger and barrel. The camshaft drives the plunger's movement and controls the fuel injection's timing.
It is a simple concept that's durable and easy to maintain. Inline pumps are known for their versatility, as they can accommodate various configurations of engines. They are mostly utilized in older and simpler diesel engines.
Unit injector
In the unit injector, the ECU controls the operation based on sensor inputs like engine speed, load conditions, and temperature. The integration of the injector and pump into a single unit simplifies the layout and makes for easier placement into the engine.
Common rail injection system
It features a high-pressure fuel rail that supplies fuel to all injectors. The injectors are electronic, which allows for more precise timing and a more accurate load.

Function

Electric or Mechanical Operation
