The DB4327-6225 pump is a stanadyne DB series mechanical rotary fuel injection pump designed for diesel engines, particularly those used in agricultural and industrial applications.
The DB4327-6225 operates as a distributor-type pump, combining fuel metering, pressurization, timing control, and cylinder distribution into a single rotating assembly. Its design ensures precise fuel delivery under varying engine loads and speeds, critical for Tier III/Stage IIIA emissions compliance.
Key operational stages
Transfer pump: a built-in vane-type transfer pump draws fuel from the tank and pressurizes it to 5-10 bar (73-145 psi). this eliminates the need for a separate lift pump.
Fuel filtering: fuel passes through a primary filter to remove contaminants before entering the pump.
Metering valve: adjusts the fuel volume based on engine demand. The valve opens and closes ports in the pump's rotor, regulating the amount of fuel entering the high-pressure chamber.
Mechanical governor: a flyweight mechanism sense engine speed. At low speeds, the governor restricts fuel flow to prevent lugging, at high speeds, it limits fuel to avoid over speeding.
Plunger and cam ring: the pump's rotor contains 2-4 reciprocating plungers driven by an eccentric cam ring. As the rotor spins, the cam ring forces the plungers inward, compressing fuel to 650 bar in the pump chamber and 750 bar at the injector nozzle.
Delivery valve: a spring-loaded valve in each outlet prevents fuel backflow after injection, maintaining consistent pressure.
Control mechanism
Using automatic advance mechanism, adjusting fuel delivery timing based on engine load and speed to optimize performance and emissions. Features cold-start and warm-up timing advance for reliable operation in low temperatures.
Adjustable speed regulation (3-5%) to maintain consistent power output under varying loads. Low-speed fuel limiter reduces emissions and prevents engine lugging.
Built-in transfer pump eliminates the need for a separate life pump. Insensitive to fuel quality and temperature variations, ensuring reliability in harsh conditions.
Robust design with low-leakage pistons and porting bushings to reduce wear.
Optional performance features include locked drive shaft timing and fuel curve rate shaping. Compatible with low-viscosity fuels and biofuels (up to B20).
